
REVEREND MICAH C. T. SIMS
is a fifth-generation preacher in a family who has served the kingdom of God across the world. He has grown into a preacher, teacher, leader and activist who seeks to empower the lives of people everywhere. In three decades of ministry leadership, Reverend Micah has been a teacher, preacher, and workshop facilitator in churches, conferences, and conventions across the United States and the world.
In 1997, he founded and pastored Victory Temple AME Church, which grew to over 500 members in a few short years. In 2013 Sims served as pastor of Bethel A.M.E. church of Harrisburg, PA, leading this historic congregation in the growth of membership, discipleship, economic development, and civic engagement. In nearly three years at Bethel, Pastor Sims added new members, expanded ministries and strengthened the financial wellness of the ministry.
His love of improving lives was personified further in 2008 when Micah launched a weekly political and current affair syndicated radio talk show entitled “A New Day with Micah Sims”. In 2010 Micah moved to NBC10 as entertainment correspondent with an eventual move to WMCN-TV Philadelphia, where he served as the host and executive producer of a political news and lifestyle talk show ‘The Micah Sims Show’.
In 2012, Micah served as Deputy Operation Vote Director of Obama for America Campaign in Pennsylvania. He oversaw initiatives and events across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for three distinctive demographic groups - African Americans, Women and Faith Communities. The incredible opportunity in 2012, enabled Micah to build his own consulting firm in 2014 As the Senior Partner of the 155 Agency, based in Philadelphia, Pa., the firm has managed several political and policy campaigns for federal, statewide, and local candidates in the northeast and Midwest.
Micah Sims served as State Executive Director of Common Cause Pennsylvania from fall 2017 until the spring of 2020. This nonpartisan advocacy organization has been at the forefront of several statewide initiatives including redistricting, voting, campaign finance and ethics reform. With over 35,000 members and supporters Common Cause continually helps to improve democracy in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
He recently served as Servant Leader and Senior Pastor of Lee Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Ohio. This outstanding church congregation with over 700 members and a yearly budget of $500k stands on the forefront of community outreach, spiritual growth, and transformative ministry. Micah has begun to move this powerful congregation into greater service through developing a strong and expanded digital footprint.
And now this Itinerant Elder is a member in the Eleventh Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church and serves as Servant Leader & Senior Pastor of Greater Grant Memorial AME Church in Jacksonville, Florida
He attended Villanova University for undergraduate studies and received his Master of Divinity degree from Missio (Biblical) Seminary in Pennsylvania. Presently, Micah is a pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Illinois. He is part of the prestigious Strategic Leadership for Black Congregation cohort which features a non-profit executive administration certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Micah is a lifetime member of NAACP, member of American Political Science Association, Board President of Pennsylvania Voice, graduate of the prestigious national political Rockwood Leadership Group as well as serves on other boards at the local, state, and national level.
He is married to the Reverend Tameaka Reid Sims who is a successful author, presenter, prayer warrior and preacher, and they are the proud parents of five outstanding young adults.
